Plastics, urethanes, and resin - all things that can be found in furniture, but will never come out of Milieu Woodworks’ shop. These things are all inexpensive and easy to produce fast work with, but simply cannot last a lifetime. They will inevitably age poorly, discolor, flake, and are extremely difficult or impossible refinish. Furniture built or finished with these materials will end up in a landfill, somewhere we never want to see our designs.
We DO use responsibly and locally sourced hardwoods, steel, glass, and stone. These materials have all of the potential in the world to last forever in your home or on your patio. We always use UV resistant, food-grade finishes that will stand up to the test of time and can be easily applied by the owner years down the road so that luster is never lost.
